Nothing screams summer like grilled flatbread! This one combines pesto, tomatoes, mozzarella and Organic Apple & Wildflower Honey Chicken Sausage with a drizzle of honey for a flavor combo that sings. Recipe by Rob and Haley Wall of @walleats.

  • Pre-made flatbread
  • 1 pack True Story Organic Apple & Wildflower Honey Chicken Sausage
  • 6 oz pesto
  • 1 cup grape tomatoes
  • 6-8 garlic cloves
  • Honey, drizzled over crust
  • 6-7 slices fresh mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garnish: fresh basil, red chili flakes (optional)

*Ingredient amounts may vary depending on flatbread size

Directions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Add grape tomatoes and garlic cloves to BBQ skewers and lightly coat with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  3. Grill True Story Organic Apple & Wildflower Honey Chicken Sausages and tomato/garlic skewers until sausages are browned and tomatoes are soft and lightly charred.
  4. Remove skewers and slice sausages into coins. Set aside.
  5. Add half of pesto to flatbread dough, drizzle honey over outer crust and add mozzarella cheese.
  6. Reduce grill heat to low and grill flatbread in middle part of grill until cheese melts (~3-5 minutes).
  7. Turn off middle burners and set outer burners on high.
  8. Add sliced sausage, grilled tomatoes/garlic and additional pesto flatbread.
  9. Continue to grill over indirect heat until crust is crispy (cooking times may vary depending on grill).
  10. Remove from grill, slice and add fresh basil and red chili flakes (optional for a little heat). Enjoy!
