Build the sandwiches by spreading mayo on the bottom and layering with mozzarella cheese and ham. Set on your baking sheet and set aside.
Make béchamel by melting the butter over medium-high heat in a small pot. Once it starts to bubble and foam add the flour and whisk for another 30 seconds, stirring continuously. Add the warm milk and stir until smooth.
Add béchamel sauce on top of each sandwich. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 5 minutes.
Broil on low for another minute or so until cheese is bubbling.
