Whether served as a festive holiday hors d’oeuvre, on a charcuterie board, or with brunch, this miso maple candied bacon offers the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and umami.
8-10 strips bacon
3 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp miso paste*
1/2 tsp chili powder
*optional
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Mix the maple syrup, brown sugar, miso paste if using, and chili powder in a small bowl. It will resemble really wet sand.
Cover a large baking sheet in aluminum foil, then place a cooling rack on top. Lay your bacon out over the rack, and then brush with mixture.
Flip and brush again, making sure the bacon is completely covered.
Bake in the oven for 18-25 minutes, or until crispy!
